Got your systems integrated?
We specialize in bringing component power and energy subsystems together into one automation and control system and ensuring that those subsystems operate together.
A large part of the world's fleet sail with non-optimal systems when it comes to automation and control. Operational challenges, lack of service support and low availability of spare parts have almost become a norm.
In addition, the number of systems on board modern vessels is rapidly increasing, driven by environmental regulations. From different fuel handling systems to scrubbers, to batteries and wind propulsion, the vessel technology is becoming more diverse and complex.
All of these systems generate huge amounts of data. This data is a source of valuable operational, safety and environmental insights, provided that the systems can interact with each other, and give the entire picture.
What makes the difference is how well the systems are controlled and are allowed to communicate as a whole – how well they share information with one another and work together. As each vessel is unique and the range of systems involved so diverse, usually incorporating multiple manufacturers, this presents a challenge to equipment suppliers.
Høglund specializes in solving these system integration challenges. We provide turnkey solutions based on non-propitiatory hardware, as well as consultative services, often working alongside a range of partners. We will find the right level of integration for each vessel, whether that means connecting every system into an overarching Integrated Automation System (IAS) or managing varying levels of interfacing.
Our Automation and Control system gives assurance that the Power and Energy systems will work as a whole. This means more control to the owners over their systems, and better access to valuable operational data, which can be accessed through a web browser and also as custom or standard reports.
As System Integrator, we support the shipping industry’s progress to becoming cleaner, safer and more reliable.
